Self-Responsibility & Self-Accountability Brings Safety

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your sauna session. No Glass Water Bottles Allowed.

  • Use a towel: Sit or lie on a towel inside the sauna to protect your skin from direct contact with the hot surfaces. Towels are available for rent for $3.

  • Shower Before Your Come: There are no showering facilities onsite.

  • Stove Use: Rhizae Sauna Keepers will stoke the stove before your session to maintain the perfect temperature range. Please do not open the stove, adjust the damper, add wood, or touch the stove at any time.

  • Certain Groups: Pregnant people, children, and the elderly may have a lower tolerance to heat and should use saunas with extreme caution and only after consulting a healthcare professional. Children ages eleven and under are not permitted in the sauna. Children between the ages of 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult in the sauna at all times.

  • Medical conditions: If you have any underlying health conditions, such as heart problems, high blood pressure, or respiratory issues, it's important to consult with your doctor before using a sauna. Saunas can put extra strain on the cardiovascular system, and individuals with certain medical conditions may need to avoid or limit sauna use. Some medications may have contraindications with using a sauna.

  • No alcohol and drugs: Saunas can intensify the effect. Do not use the sauna while under the influence of any type of alcohol or drugs.

  • Take Care of Yourself: Be aware of the sauna's temperature and limit your heat exposure according to your comfort. High temperatures can cause overheating and other health risks. Heat rises. Top bench is hottest; bottom bench for less heat. If you are feeling dizzy, nausea or light headed, please take care of yourself and leave the sauna.
